If your 669 was installed earlier, SAMBA 3.6 is active. QNAP does not automatically migrate to SAMBA 4 - once done, the Domain Controller feature will become visible.
Of course - trouble is QNAP decided not to make SAMBA 4 available by default on NAS migrated from earlier firmware versions ...
